Uncle Pete & Aunt Molly's Grave Marker

Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte, Florida |
Originally, we had planned to only drive to Port Charlotte,
Florida, as Bev wanted to go to one of the local cemeteries and find the graves
of Peter & Molly Siverdis (Aunt Molly & Uncle Pete). Aunt Molly & Uncle Pete were people that
had lived in Cleveland, Ohio and visited the Swedmark Lodge, Bev’s families
resort every summer. They did not have
children of their own, so “adopted” all other children. They would bring Bev & her brother Al a
big bag of goodies every summer when they came, as well as sending us a gift at
Christmas. As kids, you can imagine how
excited we were to see them. Later they
moved to Florida, and when they passed away, there was nobody to let us know of
their death. With Bev’s interest in
Genealogy, she tracked down the cemetery where they were buried. We found the Cemetery without much
difficultly, and were even able to park in front of the office. The staff there was very helpful and took us
right to their gravestones. We were able
to clean up the stone and Bev had brought flowers to put on the plot. Bev had wanted to do that for more than 30
years.
We decided that since that was accomplished; we might as
well drive the rest of the way to our next night’s stop, which was at the
Lazydays RV Resort – attached to Lazydays RV Sales in Seffner, near Tampa,
Florida. We were hoping that we might
get a couple of things looked at on the RV since they have 300 service bays.
When we checked in, we asked about service, and were told that
we would have to take the trolley over to the Sales Lot and check with the
Service Department. So, once we got set
up, we did just that – took the trolley.
The driver, Kathleen, was delightful.
Once we got to the Sales Office, they directed us down the hall to the
Service Office. There they had two
ladies sitting there, that didn’t know anything, and told us to use the phone
on the other wall, to call to check the schedule. Of course, there was no answer. Stan left a message. We decided to go back to the RV Park and wait
for the call. We checked out the Exit 10
Pub at the park. We each had a
Margareta. The phone rang, but nobody was
there, so Stan called back and finally got to talk to someone only to find that
there is no room left in the 300 bays to even do an oil change. It’s too bad that the “Service” is missing in
the Service Department. We understand
that they are very busy, but the communication is lacking.

Lazydays Trolley |
We decided to have a rather quiet day today. We took the trolley over for breakfast at the
Lazydays RV Sales Office. They have a
restaurant and offer a free breakfast and free lunch during your stay. We had our breakfast, but won’t be hungry
enough for lunch before 1:30 p.m., so we decided to pass.

We walked through a few motorhomes, but since we have only
had this one since March, we were not in the market for anything more. We did a little driving around, so we know
where to go to leave here tomorrow, then back to the motorhome for R & R.
Bev’s brother, Al had surgery last evening for the Staph
infection that was not reacting to antibiotics.
Bev called Al this morning. He
said he is feeling much better, so is disappointed that he has to spend a
couple more days in the hospital. They
want to keep an eye on the infection. He
thinks he might get out on Monday.
In the evening, we got a text from Al. He got out of the hospital. I know he is pleased about that.
