Naples, Florida - November 5, 2015
November 5, 2015
The day was spent on the road. Even though it is only about 200 miles to
Naples, the trip took about six hours.
We did stop at a National Parks Visitor Center, where we saw
a video about the Everglades. It told of
all of the wildlife in the area and the attempt at preserving the
ecosystem. We decided to by the DVD, in
the hopes the kids and grandkids might find it interesting. Stan also bought a Bald Eagle & an
alligator to add to his collection on the dash of the RV. Bev bought more books.
On the boardwalk in front of the visitor’s center, there was
an opportunity to see some of the local alligators. We had been told there were an abundance of
alligators along Highway 41 that we were on.
The ones at the visitor’s center were the only ones we encountered. We were glad that we had seen some on the
airboat ride near Ft. Lauderdale.
We stayed at the Naples KOA in a pull thru, so we didn’t
even have to unhook.
